My Adorable Nieces and Nephews

Caden, Rhett, Elijah, Zack, Reese and Brylee

I'm Still a Little Girl

Dad's little shadow, Brylee, followed him into my bathroom downstairs while he was throwing something away and washing his hands. She saw my bathroom scales on the floor and said, "I better step on these." She stood on my scales and went, "Huh..." and stepped off. Dad asked her what they said and her sweet little reply....

"They said I'm still a little girl, but I'm going to get bigger."

:) You must love 4-year-old logic!

I hope they will someday tell me...."You're finally a little girl and you're going to stay that way! LOL

My Nephews Rock!!!!

My nephews are the coolest ever! Casey, Oakley and I went to watch Caden and Rhett play JV football today. Not only has it been an incredible day, (Seriously! The sun is shining and it's quite warm for October!) but the Bobcats remain undefeated! :) I almost felt bad cheering when they scored, they beat the Bears so bad. It's not that I'm a proud aunt or anything...alright I admit it! I AM!!!! BOBCATS ROCK!!!!! I LOVE MY BOYS!!!!! :D

Catching Up With My Crazy Life!!!!

Holy Hannah the last two weeks have been soooo busy! I have literally had something going every single night and sometimes more. How do you people do it with families? I feel guilty for always being so busy and I'm not neglecting anyone but myself. So let me catch everyone up to speed.

Friday the 13th, was my dear little Reese's birthday. She turned 7 and is more beautiful than ever! She was sick on her birthday, dang it, but she got to help decorate her birthday cake. I didn't get to see her until this last weekend, but we're working on a project together for her birthday. We are making some doll furniture out of plastic canvas. She picked out a bedroom set and we went to the craft store and bought the yarn colors we wanted and I taught her how to stitch on Saturday. She's working on the mattress right now and I'm almost finished with the dressing screen. She's decided her bedroom will be an off-white with bright pink and purple accents. She's all girl! :)

Saturday the 14th, Janell, Mom and I went to a Relief Society Women's Conference that my stake was putting on. They had mini-classes in the morning and after lunch. I chose to attend the class on making the most of studying the scriptures as my first class. It was excellent! I really got some good information and we actually did a practical application as a class so we could see how the technique worked. I loved it!

The second class I took in the morning was called "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall - Seeing Christ Reflected in You." Oh my goodness! I took so many notes during this class! The teacher really focused on self-esteem and our attitudes. She verbalized everything for me that I've been unconsciously working on for the last few years. It was really cool and gave me some great information on helping other people make the same journey that I've made.

After lunch, Mom, Janell and I went to a cooking class on preparing a month of meals at a time. Janell and I are going to get 5-6 people together and do a meal swap. We'll each make 2 meals and divide them into 6 servings and then swap with everyone else. That way we'll each have 12 different meals in our freezer. I pretty excited about it! :) Our last class was on gardening and we got some great info there as well.

Saturday night we had a singles activity. We went to dinner at Bajio, and then went to the cheap seats to watch "Inkheart". I had already seen it with Janell, but it was worth watching again. Afterwards we all went back to Stephanie's and just hung out and visited. It was a great night, especially since I got to spend it with Bert. :)

Sunday, I taught Gospel Doctrine (always nerve racking) and then I had Janell, Mike, Kriss, Jason and Bert over for dinner. It was a great way to spend Sunday evening.

All of last week, I spent working on a report for Donevan for the NHCA. And when I say all week, I mean all week. I even pulled a couple of late nights on the evenings I didn't have other meetings or obligations. I told Donevan that his status had been upgraded from "major annoyance" to "hit list" and he better not sleep too soundly for awhile. I finally finished it late Thursday - Yay!!!!! I'll probably down grade his status back to "major annoyance", but not until I let him sweat a while. :)

This last Friday, a group of us went dancing. I was really looking forward to it and so I was also really disappointed that the deejay was so lousy. We didn't even stay for the whole dance, but ended up going back to my house and playing games.

Saturday, was pretty busy. Quinn and Kari came up and Josh and Natasha came with their kids as well. I spent the day shopping with Reese and Elijah, teaching Reese how to stitch canvas, walking with Natasha and visiting and playing games with everyone else. I was also in charge of a Chili Cook-off for the Stake Singles Saturday night. After it was over, Mike, Kristy, Stephanie and Suzie came back to my house and watched a movie.

Sunday I was in charge of a Stake Singles Fireside and we had Brother and Sister Patterson from BYU-I come and talk to us. It was excellent and a great way to end the weekend. I really have to thank Janell for arranging for them to come for me. I was having a hard time getting a speaker and they came on short notice.

Well, so far this week has been every bit as busy as the last two, but at least I have the cabin to look forward to this weekend. I can't wait for a little R&R!

My "Pretty Woman" Weekend

Did you ever have one of those surreal moments when you think this is way too good to be true let alone happening to me? That would pretty much sum up my weekend!

Saturday, Bert and I had plans to get together for the evening after he finished a business meeting with his boss. Instead, his boss invited us to join him for the BYU basketball game in Provo. We met him at the airport and flew down on his private jet. It took us a little over 30 minutes to fly from Idaho Falls to Provo. It was incredible! We drove to the Marriott Center and had dinner in the VIP lounge before we went to our seats, which were 1st row, center court. It was pretty incredible. I know some of you more avid fans are thinking that those kind of seats are completely wasted on someone who doesn't even follow basketball or any other sport for that matter, but would you have passed it up? Even with my complete lack of knowledge regarding basketball and all the rules, I had a great time and really enjoyed myself. It was definitely the most fun I've ever had at a game. (With the exception of Caden and Rhett's basketball games, because ultimately they are my favorite!) Bert's boss is a nice man and made us feel very welcome. It was very sweet of him to invite us and completely beyond anything I expected. Hands down it has to be one of the best dates I've ever been on. It was a total WOW experience. Things like that just don't happen to me every day! It was definitely a "Pretty Woman" moment, but without the whole hooker thing. :D

I will say, however, that Bert cooking me dinner Sunday was a pretty close second. You can't help but really like a guy who can not only cook, but is willing to do it in the first place. I have to admit that the whole weekend in general had me more than a little excited.

Who Needs Sleep

I have to say right off, that I'm very proud of the fact that I made it to the gym 5 times this week and one of the days I missed I still managed to get a good cardio workout. WOO HOO to me! All bragging aside, it felt great.

Wednesday night I went and stayed with my grandparents. I love visiting with them. Grandma is so cute and she always catches me up on all the goings on in the family. We watch old westerns with Grandpa, while Grandma and I crochet and visit. She loves to talk about the family and brag about how her sons and grandchildren are doing. It's so cute and fun. I also love to watch her and Grandpa interact with each other. They are so loving and considerate of one another. Grandma likes to say that they never took a honeymoon when they first got married because they were too poor, so for all intents and purposes, they have been on one long honeymoon since the day they got married. How sweet is that? :)

Friday, I went to dinner with Bert and then we met some friends and went dancing in Idaho Falls. It was a lot of fun. They had a live band that played mostly oldies music, which was awesome and fun to dance to.

Saturday, my bosses and I worked at a booth for the health fair. It was a poor location and there wasn't a lot of traffic, but sometimes you just have to say "Oh Well!" After the fair, I had to busta move home so I could get ready for a Multi-Stake Singles Activity I was in charge of. We had one of the lowest turnouts I've seen for a singles activity in a long time. On the upside, we were done early and that left the evening free for a few of us to get together and watch movies at Janell's. I'm sad to say that I pulled a Stephanie and fell asleep during the show. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Janell is the only one who managed to stay awake the entire time. For that she definitely has bragging rights. :)

We had such an awesome testimony meeting on Sunday and both classes had great lessons. I really enjoyed all three blocks. After church, I spent the afternoon with Mom, Dad, Casey and Oakley. Casey and Oakley have terrific news. Casey asked Oakley to marry him on Saturday night and she said yes. Congratulations to both of them! Casey is definitely getting the better end of that deal. I've tried to warn each of my sister-in-laws respectively about my beloved brothers faults before they were committed. I wanted them to be able to make an informed decision. Despite my warnings, they have all still said yes. It's must be true that love is blind and it's probably a good thing! :D In any case, I'm glad all three of them have absolutely no sense and married my brothers anyway. They are all sweet and have been a great blessing to our family. (And yes, I'm well aware I'll deserve any paybacks I may receive from beloved brothers for the above comments! I love them, but then again, I really am blind.)

Sunday evening, Bert and I went to a dinner at Janell's with Chad, Kriss and Jason. It was a blast. Janell made really yummy Chicken and Eggplant Parmesan and we played games after dinner. The men became overly confident in their ability to stomp us into the ground and even named their team "Male Dominance, Inc." (MDI for short). I would make fun of their complete cockiness, if it wasn't for the fact that they really did dominate the stupid game, but I'm not bitter. :) (Maybe we should just call it a tie. - lol)

Anyway, all-in-all it was a great week!

:) Weekend (:

Considering how this week started, the weekend turned out pretty great.

Friday, I went dancing! It was one of our best turnouts for a dance and we had a great time! I was a little nervous about the DJ since he did the music for the dance last month and it was really strange. Except for a few moments of insanity, he actually did really well this time. The only low point of the evening was the fact that Sherma wasn't there and she's the life of the dance. Since she had to miss this weekend, I told her I would go dancing with her next Friday. She really didn't have to talk that hard, since I love to go dancing. :) Let's not confuse enthusiasm with talent, however. I love to dance, I never claimed to be good at it.

Saturday, I felt like I was constantly on the go, maybe because I was. :D I was able to get a lot accomplished, so that was good. Jill and DJ went with Casey to Boise to watch Oakley's state basketball game. She WON!!! Way to go Oakley! While they were gone, the kids stayed with Mom and Dad, so I got to see them for a while in between work and play.

A group of my friends got together Saturday night to watch a movie at Janell's. Since we had all stayed out until after 1 the night before, we weren't too enthusiastic about anything more vigorous. We ended up watching "Horton Hears a Who" since Dee Jay brought Keisha. I was totally fine with it since the movie is completely hilarious. Afterwards, we visited until Janell threw us out. I not kidding either, we were all too comfortable to move and she had to finally remind us we all had church in the morning. :D

This was probably the first Sunday since we switched to 9:00 church that I've been on time for sacrament meeting. I credit it the the harassing phone calls and text messages that started around 7:30 in the morning. I have great friends, but I pretty sure I haven't done anything to deserve continual harassment from so many sources that early on a Sunday. You all know me, sweet and innocent. On the upside, every meeting in church was great.

Donevan and Christine came and spoke at our fireside on Sunday. They did such an awesome job. The spirit was very strong and it was a terrific message. I really appreciate their time and effort and how inspired they were. Thanks for listening to promptings you two! And thanks to all my friends who felt so guilty for teasing me that they stayed and helped clean up afterwards. You're all wonderful.

I hope everyone has a great week!
